Things to see & do:
Due to its shore side location Loch Ken Holiday Park is an ideal
place to find all of your water sport activities, however it is
also the perfect location for other activities:
Walking:
Dumfries and Galloway is the 'natural place' for walkers of all abilities.
With breathtaking views of the Galloway Hills and the abundance
of wildlife you'll certainly not be disappointed. The Southern
Upland Way is known as Scotland's longest and most challenging
walking route, covering some 212 miles and stretching from Portpatrick
to Cockburnspath and is only a short distance from Loch Ken Holiday
Park.

Bird Watching:
Loch Ken Holiday Park is home of the Parton Walk and viewpoint, where
you can see the Red Kites in all their glory. It is a 1km
walk along the edge of pasture and woodland to reach an elevated
viewpoint overlooking Loch Ken and the surrounding area. Kites
can be seen from any part of this walk at any time of year. Just
a short drive away is the Ballymack Hill Farm (feeding station),
where you can see these majestic birds feeding.
Other birds to look out for around and about include
the Hen Harrier, Buzzard, Golden Eagle, Red Grouse, Black Grouse,
Barn Owls, Oyster Catchers, Grey Lag, Spoonbill...

Cycling:
Cycling in Dumfries and Galloway is a great way to get about. The
National Cycle Network covers more than 130 miles where you can
take in the spectacular scenery and unwind. If off-road cycling
is more your thing, why not visit one of the 7stanes trails,
where there is a trail to suit all ages and abilities.

Golfing:
Dumfries and Galloway has plenty of golf courses to choose from.
New Galloway Golf Club and Castle Douglas Golf Club are both
close by and offer great 9 hole courses. Dumfries and Galloway
has 30 courses so whether you want to play a serious game or
just play a few practice holes there are plenty of courses to
choose from. There are also lots of driving ranges and professional
tuition at hand should you need it.
