Our History

A New Family Business

In 1970 a new family business was created by Mr & Mrs Mungo Bryson, who were at the time working on and tending to their family farm – ‘Boreland of Parton’. Mr & Mrs Bryson made the decision to officially open one of their loch side fields to campers. Over a period of 40 years, what began as a country side haven for camping enthusiasts,  has been developed and has become home to a fleet of static caravan holiday homes both for sale and to let, as well as providing a warm welcome to many families in touring caravans, motor homes, camper vans and tents.

In the year 1980, what was a derelict cottage located within the camping field was renovated to create a new shop and reception, which still welcomes the guests of Loch Ken Holiday Park today. Fishing was a hugely popular pursuit on the Loch at this time, and competitions were held at the Holiday Park on a monthly basis.

Expansion of the park

An adjacent field was added to the business to cater for the growing popularity and interest in camping holidays.

Passing on the family business

Mr Mungo Bryson Jnr. took over the management of Loch Ken Holiday Park and over the course of the next five years the business saw developments in the holiday homes, touring pitches and the range of facilities on offer to camping guests
