Loch Ken is a privately owned caravan park located approximately 6 miles from the main A75 Dumfries to Stranraer road. Our Park has both privately owned Touring Caravans and privately owned Holiday Homes.
The Park itself is set on the banks of Loch Ken. All surfaces are uneven and we do not recommend walking for anybody who has difficulty with mobility. Assistance dogs are welcome on the Park and we ask that they are kept on a leash at all times to keep in line with our existing park rules.
Customers with learning disabilities are very welcome. If the disabilities are severe, we respectfully request that someone who can provide an appropriate level of assistance accompany the customer. We will not make generalisations or assumptions about what people with learning difficulties can do or understand. We will use straightforward language, allow time for a response and be understanding and positive.
Our Reception is open 7 days per week from 8.30am to 5pm. Visitor Information leaflets, including weather and travel information are located in the information room next door to Reception. We have a laundrette and toilet facility adjacent to the Reception building.
The owner of the Park, Mr Mungo Bryson is based directly across from the Park and he can be contacted by telephoning 07711539220 out with office hours.
Most mobile phone networks have coverage at Loch Ken Holiday Park, with o2 and Vodafone benefiting from a stronger signal.
We offer a variety of pitches with excellent views of the loch. All of the Holiday Homes have parking alongside the pitch for your convenience; additional parking is provided behind reception on the grass area. We take the safety of our customers very seriously and therefore there is a 5mph speed limit throughout the Park with clear signs throughout the Park to make it safer for everyone.
There are local transport links to and from the Park. There are a couple of different local taxi firms and their numbers are displayed on the information board outside reception. There is a regular bus service to and from Castle Douglas and stops are located adjacent to the parks’ entrance. For further information on transport, please phone the Local Tourist Information Centre of 01557 814099,
The nearest town to the Park is Castle Douglas which is approximately 10 miles from the Park and provides shops, supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and a pharmacy. Please ask a member of staff for directions.
Our aim is to help in any way that we can and if you require any assistance during your stay or whilst planning your visit we will be delighted to assist.
